Today, Happiness is a subscription content service. Versus an add supported service
Subscription services like HBO, Netflix and others live in a enviable business model versus advertising supported services like NBC or Fox. Subscription services can create the perception of success. Because they are being voted on versus being weighed.
Subscription services really don’t publish their ratings. And people don’t follow them because there is no business need for the ratings because they do not sell advertising. Their ratings are available but now widely available or followed. Subscription services are driven by consumers “voting” on them by continually renewing their monthly subscriptions.
So success is not how many people watch a specific show but rather does the entire package of shows create enough value for your household.
